at a
private
Highland
Park
residence,
as the
group
gathered
to hear
plans
for the
conference
scheduled
for
Friday,
September
9 at The
Fairmont
Hotel in
Dallas.
Touted
as a
Day of
Discovery
and
Recovery,
the
one-day
Caron
Cares
seminar
is
presented
as a
community
service
event
for
those
seeking
answers
to the
challenges
of
addiction.
Hosted
by
Dallas’
newest
addiction
treatment
center,
Caron
Texas,
the
event
will
begin
with a
breakfast
and
keynote
speaker,
followed
by
guests’
choice
of two
seminar
sessions
and a
keynote
speaker
at
lunch.
The
program
will end
at 2
p.m.
“No
family
is
untouched
by
alcohol
or drug
addiction
– in
fact,
one in
six
families
in Texas
is
dealing
with
this
disease,”
said
Robin
Bagwell,
Caron
Cares
co-chairman
and
Caron
Texas
board
member.
“We have
planned
an
informative
and
inspirational
day to
examine
the
signs
and
symptoms
of
addiction,
its
impact
on
families
and how
individuals
and
families
in
recovery
and
professionals
in the
field
can have
hope for
the
future.”

breakfast

mother
and
daughter
authors
of "The
Lost
Years,"
the true
story of
a child
caught
in the
depravity
of
alcohol
and drug
addiction
and a
mother
helplessly
standing
by
unable
to save
her.
Their
powerful
story
begins
with the
suffering,
turmoil
and
destruction
of
addiction,
and ends
with
forgiveness,
reconciliation
and
redemption.

Osborn,
Caron
Cares
co-chairman

Caron
Texas
Advisory
Board
member.
“So that
we can
all
understand
addiction
and what
we can
do to
help our
children
and our
community,
we are
hosting
the
first
Caron
Cares
symposium
during
the
month of
September,
which is
National
Drug
Addiction
Recovery
Month.”
Caron
Texas
opened
its
doors in
July
2010 and
is
providing
comprehensive,
high-quality,
gender-specific
addiction
treatment
to
adults
in Texas
and the
Southwest.
Part of
the
Caron
Treatment
Centers
network,
the
28,000-square-foot
facility
is set
on 40
acres
and
offers
many
amenities
for
patients
and
their
families
in a
serene
and
secluded
setting,
just 40
miles
north of
Dallas.
A new
14,000-square-foot
fitness
center
and
swimming
pool
were
recently
completed
on the
campus
last
winter.

addition

Texas,
Caron
