DALLAS,
Texas
(June,
2012) –
Twenty-three
members
of
Leukemia
Texas
Board of
Trustees
and
Staff
gathered
in
Dallas
this
month to
strategically
plan for
the
year.
With
July 1st
starting
the new
fiscal
year for
Leukemia
Texas,
the
group
was
ready to
begin
with
fresh
energy
and
creativity.
The
retreat
included
a
touching
success
story
from a
Leukemia
Texas
patient,
team-building
and
small-group
discussions,
along
with
opportunities
for
exploration.
In the
end, the
retreat’s
agenda
and
activities
were
tied
clearly
to the
organization’s
strategic
goal -
to
enhance
the
fight of
the
life-threatening
blood
cancer
of
leukemia
through
research
and
patient
aid.
This
enhancement
includes
expanding
partnerships,
events,
social
media,
patient
support,
and
research,
to name
a few.
Unique
to
Leukemia
Texas,
100% of
the
charitable
dollars
stay
here at
home,
serving
Texas.
This
year
also
marks
the 10th
anniversary
of their
popular
Beat
Leukemia
Ball
which
features
“The Fab
Four”
the
ultimate
tribute
to the
Beatles
Band…this
year
also
happens
to be
The
Original
Beatles
50th
anniversary.
“Leukemia
Texas
has been
my
favorite
charity
for many
years
because
it is
local
and
because
of all
the fine
people
involved.
We feel
like we
really
are
making a
difference
because
we have
met many
of the
patients
we have
helped
and we
have
been in
the labs
where we
have
donated
the test
tubes.”
Board
member
and past
president,
Michael
A.
Pincus,
DDS.
Because
of
partnership
with
sponsors
Clarkson

Caddo

LLC,
Sfuzzi
in
Uptown,
and
Paradise
Bakery
at
Rosewood
Court,
Leukemia
Texas
was able
to hold
thisretreat
with
zero
expenses.
“We are
deeply
grateful
to our
sponsors
for
their
generosity.
Because
of their
support,
we are
able to
ensure
more
dollars
are
spent on
research
and
patient
aid in
Texas.”
