FALL BEVERLY HILLS ART SHOW
AFFAIRE IN THE GARDENS
 RETURNS TO BEVERLY GARDENS

 OCTOBER 15 & 16

Public art event features thousands of one-of-a-kind artworks, art tours and special exhibits

Beverly Hills, CA – The Semi-Annual Beverly Hills Art Show – Affaire In The Gardens returns to Beverly Gardens
October 15 – 16, 2011.  Following an immensely successful Spring event that garnered record sales and attendance, the Fall Affaire In The Gardens promises to be an equally exciting event. 250 vetted artists from across the nation showcasing an array of paintings, sculptures, photographs, jewelry, ceramics and traditional prints will participate in the show. An ideal event for early holiday shoppers, as well as art lovers, the Affaire In The Gardens offers visitors a wide assortment of upscale, yet affordable one-of-a-kind art items.

Spanning four blocks, this free public art fair will also feature entertaining and family-friendly programming including special exhibits, art tours, in-booth artist demonstrations, live entertainment, food trucks, and for the adults, wine and fine beer gardens.

The Affaire In The Gardens will continue its series of special exhibits curated by the Los Angeles Art Association.  The series, which began at the Spring art fair, showcases art works from select emerging artists from Los Angeles area. Artist Ya Ya Chou will create a faux underwater environment complete with whale balloon at the Fall event in Beverly Gardens. The Los Angeles Art Association will also feature artist J.T. Burke and sculptor R. Matt at the Los Angeles Art Association booth.  Additional special exhibits highlighting select artists will be curated by City of Beverly Hills Art Show Coordinator, Karen McLean.

Art tours will take place throughout the show. A Public Art Collection Tour, featuring permanent works by internationally celebrated contemporary artists, will be led by a representative from the Fine Art Commission of Beverly Hills.  In addition, an Artist’s Highlight Tour of select Affaire In The Gardens artists will also take place. Tours are free, and visitors can sign up to participate at the Information Booth between Beverly and Canon Drive just north of Santa Monica Boulevard, in Beverly Gardens Park.

Of the 250 artists exhibiting at the Affaire In The Gardens, a select few will be honored with awards.  A panel of leading arts professionals will judge artists based on category (Painting, Sculpture, Mixed-Media, Photography, and Prints), and also award one artist the ‘Best in Show’ award.  Official Automobile Sponsor, Lincoln will also present the Lincoln Artist Innovation Award that will recognize an artist for using innovative materials and design.  The Affaire In The Gardens award ceremony will take place on Sunday, Oct 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Beverly Gardens Park, under the Beverly Hills sign, between Beverly and Canon Drive.

The Affaire In The Gardens will feature wine and fine beer gardens, food trucks specializing in Japanese, Greek, American, and Italian fare, live ambient music, and a children’s art area for families, where everyone can make a masterpiece. The Affaire In The Gardens’ charitable partner is the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.  Artworks by children will be for sale in the Children’s Hospital booth.  All proceeds of their sales will benefit the hospital.

Lincoln, Affaire In The Gardens exclusive Automobile Sponsor, will also invite guests to get behind the wheel of their latest luxury vehicles for a personal driving experience through the exclusive dwellings of Beverly Hills and discover Lincoln’s cutting-edge innovations, modern design and advanced technology. While there, guests can step inside the Lincoln ePOD, a highly interactive multimedia experience, and have the opportunity to win the 2012 MKZ Hybrid.

The Affaire In The Gardens is produced by the City of Beverly Hills.  Event Sponsors include Lincoln, the Beverly Hills Courier, KPCC-Southern California Public Radio, Mark Wollman of Beverly Hills Hilton and Hyland Real Estate.  Event partners include the Los Angeles Art Association and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

The Beverly Hills Art Show – Affaire In The Gardens will take place Saturday, October 15 to Sunday, October 16, 2011.  General Show hours are 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and admission is free.  The Art Show is located at Beverly Garden located along Santa Monica Blvd, from Rodeo Drive to Rexford Drive. Parking is available and inexpensive in many City parking structures  http://bit.ly/bhartshowpkg  located just south of Santa Monica Boulevard.  For more information, please visit www.beverlyhills.org/artshow
