On view are photographs that capture the emotion
and drama of
the Presidential swearing-in ceremonies and
historic White House moments of Barack Obama,
George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush,
Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford.
Celebrating US!
opened on November 13 and will run through
early January.
“What better way to inaugurate the Palm Beach
Photographic Centre’s beautiful new home in City
Center than with an inauguration-based
exhibition,” said NeJame. “And the theme of
Celebrating US! has many meanings
because we are celebrating the U.S., celebrating
democracy, celebrating our wonderful new 26,000
square foot location in downtown West Palm
Beach, and celebrating the incredible work of
some remarkable photojournalists, several of
whom attended our Grand Opening.”
Among the presidential photographers whose work
are on display at the Photo Centre are:
+
David Hume Kennerly,
President Ford's White House photographer
+
Robert (Bob) McNeely,
President Clinton's official photographer
+
Pete Souza,
President Barack Obama's chief photographer
+ Anne Day,
who has photographed three presidential
inaugurations and whose work has appeared in
major newspapers and newsweeklies
+ Paul Morse,
who was deputy director of photography at the
White House from 2001 to 2007
+
Karen Ballard,
a freelance photographer best known for her work
in Washington and the Middle East, and on major
motions pictures (the James Bond thriller
Quantum of Silence,
as well as
Munich, Defiance
and
Rambo)
“A longtime supporter and frequent lecturer at
the Palm Beach Photographic Centre, Mr. Kennerly
attended the Grand Opening celebration on
November 13 along with Mr. McNeely, Ms. Ballard
and several other nationally known
photographers,” said NeJame. “We also intend to
present these and other distinguished
presidential photojournalists in a special panel
discussion and/or workshop for
PBPC members.”
In addition to

the Photo Centre will be presenting two more
