The legendary Elaine Paige, the “First Lady of
West End Theatre Musicals,” will be arriving in the
states at the end of March to publicize and promote the
US release of her new duets CD, titled Elaine
Paige and Friends, her autobiography,
Memories, as well as to begin rehearsals on
April 4 for the all-star Kennedy Center revival of the
classic musical, Follies, in which she
will share the Eisenhower Theater stage with a
glittering array of talent, including Bernadette
Peters, Linda Lavin, Jan Maxwell, Danny Burstein, Terri
White, Ron Raines and the legendary chanteuse
Regine. Elaine will be playing the role of Carlotta
Campion who sings the show’s 11 o’clock number, “I’m
Still Here.” The production opens May 7 and continues
for 50 performances through Sunday, June 19, 2011.
While in the states, Elaine will do press interviews and
media appearances in New York, Los Angeles and Palm
Springs before beginning rehearsals in early April. She
will be doing a book and CD signing at Just Fabulous in Palm Springs on Sunday, March 27, from 5 to 7
PM. On Friday, April 1, Elaine will perform
a benefit concert for the Palm Springs Art
Museum in the patio of one of Palm Spring’s
finest restaurants, La Vallauris.
Elaine’s new duets CD, produced by the legendary Phil
Ramone features duets recorded by Ms. Paige with 14
of her favorite musical performers, including (in
alphabetical order): Paul Anka, John Barrowman,
Michael Bolton, Kenny G, Barry Manilow, Johnny Mathis,
Idina Menzel, Olivia Newton-John, Billy Ocean, Sinead
O’Connor, LeAnn Rimes, Jon Secada, Neil Sedaka and
Dionne Warwick.
