At
Sotheby's there is an absolutely astonishing display of
antique toy trains and train stations. Their history
goes from pre-civil war to pre-World War II. It is the
collection of Jerry and Nina Greene and titled the "Jerni
Collection". The entire collection has 35,000 pieces
and is housed in their 5,400 sq.ft. basement in
Pennsylvania. This Sotheby's display represents only
20% of the total collection. The Greenes have been
collecting for over 50 years and they, together with
their son Michael and daughter, Melissa, hope to sell it
in its entirety for $50 million to a private buyer or
group who would keep the collection intact.
It
would be perfect for a billionaire to acquire and
display it to the world in a museum - like space in NYC
and offer it to the public at a nominal fee. Everyone
who visits NYC would want to experience this
"None-of-a-Kind" once in their life for there is
literally nothing like it in the entire world ... One of
the greatest wonders!
"All things excellent are both difficult and rare."
