facility’s new “Mixed Martial Arts” program for children
ages 7 – 14. Each
50 minute sport and self defense class will cover a full
range curriculum, including Jeet Kune Do / Filipino Kali /
Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu.
Martial arts can have a profound effect on a child in ways
beyond the mere physical. A Carleton University study found
children involved in martial arts to have a lower level of
anxiety, an increased sense of responsibility, a decrease in
willingness to take foolish risks, an elevated sense of self
esteem, a higher level of social intelligence and were less
likely to be radical.
AMAA’s Little Dragons is designed to provide children with a
myriad of benefits including:
*Building and improving self-confidence and character;
*Establishing discipline, and enforcing good behavior within
the class and home;
*Providing a sense of achievement and accomplishment,
focusing on individual growth;
*Channeling natural energy and aggression into safe and
positive outlets;
*Building mental focus and stamina;
*Imparting the concepts and principles of self-defense,
employed only as a last resort.
Children enrolled at during AMAA’s Open House will be
charged only $25 for the first month, including
complimentary lesson and outfit.
AMAA’s Little Dragons will go though testing and belt
