Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, is the feel-good theatrical
experience of the year. Based on the smash-hit movie,
Priscilla is the heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three
friends who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love
and friendship and end up finding more than they could have
ever dreamed of.
Featuring
a score of over 20 dance-floor classics, a company of 27,
and with a dazzling array of more than 500 outrageous
costumes, the spectacular new stage musical stars Tony Award
nominee Will Swenson, Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon,
and Nick Adams as the trio of friends. Simon Phillips
directs the show written by Stephan Elliot and Allan Scott.
Costumes are by Academy Award winning designers Tim Chappel
and Lizzie Gardiner.
Leading
the group of producers is Bette Midler, singer, actress and
comedian, also known (by her stage name) as The Divine Miss
M. During her more than forty-year career, Midler has been
nominated for two Academy Awards, and won four Grammy
Awards, four Golden Globes, three Emmy Awards, and a special
Tony Award. Midler has produced many of her own shows in Las
Vegas and around the world but this is her first time
producing on Broadway.
Milder
saw the Priscilla, Queen of the Desert in London and joined
the American team of producers to bring the show to
Broadway.
The Broadway producers include: Bette Midler,
James L. Nederlander, Garry McQuinn, Liz Koops, Roy Furman,
Terry Allen Kramer, Terri and Timothy Childs, Stewart F.
Lane, Bonnie Comley, Debbie Bisno, Paul Boskind, Scott Mauro
and
