Special
Performance By ABT Artists Featured
Los Angeles, CA – American Ballet Theatre (ABT) presented
its annual Stars Under The Stars: An Evening in Los
Angeles, at the Beverly Hills home of Jeanne and Anthony
Pritzker. The event marked the beginning of ABT's
celebration of its 75th anniversary Avery & Andy Barth, Dr.
Richard Merkin and Laura & Jamie Rosenwald served as
co-chairs for the evening, along with along with
Vice-Chairs Bob Barth & Nicole Frank and Florence Sloan;
Benefit Committee members John Bartlett, Ambassador Frank &
Kathy Baxter and LeeAnn & Ron Havner.
Highlighting the evening was
a one-night-only special performance by the world-renowned
artists of American Ballet Theatre, including Principal
Dancers Veronika Part, Hee Seo and Cory Stearns; Soloists
Alexandre Hammoudi, Christine Shevchenko and Devon Teuscher
and Corps de Ballet members Blaine Hoven, Luciana Paris and
Arron Scott, dancing selections from the Company’s unrivaled
repertoire including “Seven Sonatas,” “Cinderella,” “Swan
Lake” and “Toccare.”
This marked the third
consecutive year the Pritzkers have hosted the gala
special event, with the more than $250,000 raised benefiting
ABT. Stars Under The Stars raises funds to support
the Company’s extensive domestic and international touring,
the creation of significant new works, and award-winning
education and outreach programs, which are also held in
California.
Rachel Moore, ABT CEO,
welcomed guests adding that “Tonight’s event is the first of
many celebrations we will hold throughout 2014 and 2015 to
mark ABT’s establishment in 1940 and its 75years of artistic
excellence. We are so pleased to be starting this milestone
achievement with you.”
Kevin McKenzie, ABT Artistic
Director took the stage to introduce the performances,
sharing Moore’s gratitude for the warm Los Angeles welcome
and the pride in bringing “the best in dance to America and
the best in American dance to the world.”

Aguirre, Sutton Stracke, Karyn Lovegrove, Florence Sloan,
Sarah Arison, Christina Lyon, Barbara Guggenheim, Larry
Boland (President of Piaget North America), Wendy Goldberg,
Irena Medavoy, and Robin & Elliott Broidy.
