Westhampton Beach, NY
- WHBPAC’s Nancy & Frederick DeMatteis Arts Education
Program is proud to present CORBiAN Visual Arts and Dance/
Light Wire Theatre’s stage adaptation of two classic
"underdog" tales, The Ugly Duckling & The Tortoise and
the Hare, for ages 3-9, on Tuesday, March 20
at 10:00am and 12:30pm. Tickets are
$10 and are available to the public!
Two classic storybook tales come to life on stage through
the use of cutting edge technology. A beloved story about
personal transformation and acceptance, The Ugly Duckling
follows a young duckling through the different seasons as he
searches for friends to love him for who he really is. In
The Tortoise and the Hare, the famous story of a race
between two very different animals, teaches the moral that
"slow and steady wins the race." CORBiAN fuses dance,
narration, a wide range of musical genres, and
electroluminescent wire to create a stunning effect on
stage.
The Ugly Duckling & The Tortoise and the Hare are part of
WHBPAC’s School Day Performances Series -
a curriculum-based, buss-in program for students in grades
PreK-12. The program acts as an extension of the classroom,
providing educators with direct connections to NYS Learning
Standards in a variety of subject areas. Through
experiential learning, students are equipped with the tools
needed to deal with today’s social issues.
