Rick Bogart and Trio coming to Tagine Fine
Moroccan Cuisine,
NYC Midtown, Thursday, June 4th, 8 PM. |
Rick Bogart,
clarinetist, vocalist and composer, plays with his jazz trio
several times a week in the theater district of Manhattan. This
time out, by special request, he is paying a visit to the
colorful restaurant Tagine.
Tagine’s Fine Moroccan Cuisine, voted the
Number One Moroccan restaurant in New York City by NYC.COM has
been in Manhattan’s Midtown theater district for the past 12
years. Once you step inside, you enter a world of beautiful
belly dancers, perfumed air, Hookah pipes in their Hookah
lounge, the world of camels and sand dunes, and you will be
sipping a wonderful orange blossom sangria or a bottle of
the best Moroccan wine from a selective wine list in
minutes.
Tagine’s kitchen is managed by Chef
Hamid, who takes a fine hand in preparing their
specialties that people travel throughout the city for,
including ‘Bastilla’, a Moroccan pheasant pie, ‘Moquadimat’,
a selection of appetizers ordered either by ala carte or on
a mixed platter. And then there’s ‘Halahwat’, wonderful
pastries, which are served with mint tea or Moroccan spiced
coffee.
Tagine prides itself on being a restaurant
that also serves up entertainment in crossing-the-continent
artists. The restaurant prides themselves in presenting the
best in live entertainment, and they sought out Rick
Bogart and his Trio to
perform his brand of jazz led by the irresistible sound of a
clarinet. Rick will also be on vocals, and be joined by
Keith Ingram on piano and Alex Gressell on bass. Traditional
Moroccan Belly Dancing will follow Rick’s performance. There
is no cover charge required, but reservations are
recommended and may be done right on Tagine’s website: http://www.taginedining.com/index.html

“Rick Bogart is one of the great
clarinetists of our era.” –
Danny
Stiles, WNYC Radio
|
Rick Bogart,
clarinetist, vocalist and composer, plays with his jazz
trio several times a week in the theater district of
Manhattan. One
of the places he performs in is at the romantic L’Ybane,
New York restaurant,
nestled on Eight Avenue, off of 45th Street.
A restaurant with the Mediterranean
flavors that you may have been missing, L'Ybane New York
is the ideal place where you will find them once again. Soft
candlelight, with wine and cocktails served to match
your meal will take you on a trip where going to a
restaurant was an event.
The addition of great traditional jazz
with the Rick Bogart Trio on Tuesday and Friday evenings
make having a great meal even more fun at L’Ybane, New
York. Rick’s good friend Mitch Winehouse comes into New
York at least four times a year, and
when he does, a good time is truly had!
“Mitch comes to New York to visit and
work with the “Amy Winehouse Foundation” (The foundation
that Mitch Winehouse started to honor the memory of his
late daughter, singer Amy Winehouse, who died in 2011),
Rick Bogart said. “These
visits mean a lot to Mitch, and the work that he is
doing for the foundation has made a difference (to) so
many young people.”
The Amy Winehouse Foundation (AWF) ((http://www.amywinehousefoundation.org/us/)
is chartered in England, Wales and in the United States.
The foundation’s simple charter for the US was written
by Amy’s father Mitch and states the following:
“The
Amy Winehouse Foundation USA’s mission is supporting and
empowering children in need through music therapy and
music education and works to prevent the effects of drug
and alcohol misuse on young people. ”
The foundation had its first Amy
Winehouse Foundation's (AWF) Gala
and Inspiration Awards on Thursday, March 22, 2013,
honoring legendary entertainer Tony Bennett and
rapper/record producer Nas at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
Honoree Tony Bennett performed, along with Jennifer
Hudson, Alicia Keys and Lauren Hill. Rick
Bogart also took part in the event that evening. You can
read more about the
gala here.
Mitch always makes it a point to visit
Rick Bogart where he is playing and sing with the trio.
Mitch may be performing songs from his new album “But
Beautiful”, which include “The Nearness
of You”, “Learning the Blues” and the haunting “But
Beautiful”. The album is on iTunes and proceeds go to
AWF.
And of course, Rick
Bogart will
be leading his splendid trio at L’Ybane with Rick
on clarinet and vocals, joined by Keith Ingram on piano
and Alex Gressell on bass. There is no cover charge
required, but
reservations are strongly
recommended.
