to the Foundation for Health Coverage Education to

Americans with Chronic Diseases in Finding Health
Insurance |
.
San Jose , Calif.
– April 28, 2010 –
Due to the high number of uninsured patients
requesting help from the American Cancer Society,
American Heart Association, American Diabetes
Association, and the American Lung Association, the
Washington D.C.-based Health Coverage Foundation has
awarded a grant for $50,000 to the Foundation for
Health Coverage Education (FHCE)
www.CoverageForAll.org
to aid in its work with these organizations and help
patients find health coverage.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, treatment for Americans suffering from
chronic diseases, including diabetes, heart disease
and cancer, account for 75% of the nation's
healthcare spending. “Enabling patients with
chronic conditions to more easily navigate the
healthcare system and find their best health
coverage options will further help reduce their
overall healthcare costs,” said
Ankeny Minoux, President of the
FHCE, a non-profit organization which aims to
provide simplified health insurance eligibility
information in order for more people to access
coverage.
“We are pleased to help the FHCE with its valuable
outreach effort to give this population the
assistance they need to secure comprehensive
coverage options,” said Mike Bromberg, who founded
the Health Coverage Foundation with his wife, Marlys.
“FHCE’s resources will help these important
organizations’ collective efforts to respond to the
people who suffer with chronic medical conditions
and need coverage.”
The FHCE has helped more than 1.6 million people
find heath coverage with its website’s 5-question
Eligibility Quiz, which instantly provides a list of
programs for which they qualify, along with
applications and important enrollment
information.
The Foundation for Health Coverage Education (FHCE)
