NEW YORK (February 27,
2017) – CITY
SEATS, is a collective of organizations and individuals
that have
come together to repurpose the original
stadium seats from Yankee Stadium as one
oa kind artist-designed works, announced the launch of
their limited edition online auction on Paddle8, the
leading online auction house. This
collaboration gave more
than 20 artists and designers the
opportunity to transform
iconic Yankee stadium seats into unique works of art,
which are
available to bidders worldwide February

VIP unveiling event of CITY SEATS took place on
February 23, 2017, at
the 287 Gallery, NYC.
“Steiner Sports
is thrilled to participate in the launch of CITY SEATS,”
said Brandon Steiner, CEO of Steiner Sports. “For the
first time, baseball patrons will be able to own a
unique piece of history that’s also a one-of-a-kind
piece of art.”
Celebrated
artists such as Romero Britto, Alec Monopoly, Peter
Tunney, Roy Nachum among others
employ a range
of mediums, from brilliant
Swarovski crystals to
playful Legos, to realize their creations. The
collection of artist-designed seats was exhibited at 287
Gallery in New York and offered for auction online to a
global audience on Paddle8. A portion of the proceeds
from the sale of City
Seats will go to The
Boys & Girls Club.
"Growing up in
New York, I’ve been a Yankees fan my whole life. It was
a lot of fun having a chair from the old stadium to work
on," said artist Alec Monopoly.
“It was exciting
to watch each artist and brand transform their vintage
Yankee seat. These seats make for an incredible addition
to any art collector or sports enthusiast’s collection
and at the same time help a great cause,” said Avery
Andon, Co-Founder of City Seats.
Some of
the many notables in attendance were, Carol Alt, Todd
Morley, Ariya Ghahramani, Matt
Klarberg, Adrienne Stern,
Ryan Klarberg, Errol Rappaport and
many of the artists and folks from the Boys and Girls
Club.
