A Message from the
President
Mark S. Alexander
Dear friends and neighbors of CIVITAS, Over the past years,
CIVITAS has continued its important work on legacy issues
such as advocating for a demonstration project on building
an ecological edge along the East River waterfront, Advocacy
efforts on Phase II of the Second Avenue Subway, and keeping
a close watch on institutional expansion plans, including
those of the Frick Collection, Marymount School, and propose
a 350ft building height limit on new construction.
In spite of our diminutive size, CIVITAS continues to have
an outsized impact on critical issues of the city. We call
upon you, our neighbors and friends, to join us in our work
and to share your ideas and suggestions so that we can
continue to have relevance on civic matters of importance to
us all.
