For 21 years, the Jewish Children’s Museum
has welcomed more than 4 million visitors into a unique
space where families from diverse backgrounds explore Jewish
history, culture, and values through interactive, hands-on
experiences.
The museum educates and inspires children by fostering
empathy, cross-cultural understanding, and respect for
people's differences.
Founded in response to tragedy, the museum honors the memory
of 16-year-old Ari Halberstam, who was murdered in a
terrorist attack on the Brooklyn Bridge over 30 years ago.
It
stands as a living tribute to Ari, using education to
confront intolerance and teach children empathy, moral
courage,
and compassion.
The new Exhibit, called Ari's Exhibit, serves as the
Museum's conceptual and emotional centerpiece. Guided by Ari
Halberstam’s story, the exhibit takes visitors through
Jewish history, from the Crusades and expulsions to the
Holocaust and modern-day antisemitism, showing both the
hardships faced by Jewish communities and the resilience
that allowed them to endure and thrive.
It
also highlights Jewish contributions to society and
culminates in the immersive Infinity Room, encouraging
visitors to bring kindness, understanding, and respect into
their own lives.
As the museum grows, we remain dedicated to reaching more
children and families, deepening our impact, and inspiring
them to carry forward the lessons of history.
We hope you will join us in continuing this mission. |
