Celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the Founding of the
United States: Flushing City Hall
to Host a 10-Day Exhibition of American Treasures
As the epic fireworks display and celebratory climaxes fade
into memory, the year-long celebrations of the 250th
anniversary of the founding of the United States continue.
At this historically significant moment, good news comes
from the Chinese American community: Flushing City Hall,
where many Chinese reside, will host a 10-day exhibition of
American treasures from August 1st to 10th. Organized by the
Murray Hill Art Museum in New York and co-organized by the
New York Contemporary Art Group, the exhibition will
showcase 500 precious artworks related to American history
and culture from the museum's collection.
These include paintings, sculptures, prints, tapestries, art
glass, crystal art, and silverware, among others. Notable
exhibits include a giant porcelain emblem bearing the
American national seal commissioned by the White House from
Jingdezhen, China in the 19th century.
The exhibition is diverse in its scope and features numerous
valuable artifacts.
