Kenneth Cole Productions will host the third Charity
Shopping Night in support of Making Books Sing,
a New York City based theatre and arts education
organization. Created in 1996, the 14 year-old organization
adapts contemporary children’s books into full-scale,
critically acclaimed theatrical productions for young/family
audiences. Each year the production tours across New York
City at professional venues and special performances across
the U.S. In addition to the theatre production, Making Books
Sing brings theatre into classrooms across New York City by
teaching literacy and social studies skills through theatre
arts. Kenneth Cole supports various non-profit organizations
through their charity shopping events that gives the
organization an opportunity to raise awareness and funds
through a sociable activity that most fashionable New
Yorkers enjoy—shopping!
WHAT:
Kenneth Cole & Making Books Sing Shopping Night,
an evening of charitable in-store shopping for Kenneth
Cole’s winter/holiday collection of men’s and women’s
apparel, shoes and accessories, cocktails, and hors d’
oeuvres. Special VIP Host/Reader award-winning WPIX-Ch. 11
"Morning News" anchor Sukanya Krishnan will read
excerpts from "Chachaji's Cup" -the selected book chosen for
our 2010 musical, Tea with Chachaji. Ms. Krishnan
will also share stories about growing up Indian in America.
Also, Making Books Sing books and merchandise will be on
sale at the event.
