The American Lung
Association of Florida and event chairwoman,
Kelly Fason, Mrs. Florida/US Beauties are proud
to announce the Inspire Life Breathe Free
Luncheon will take place Monday, May 17,
2010, at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach
at 11:30 a.m. This year’s keynote speaker will be
Dr. Helene B. Leonetti, MD, author of “Hardwired For
Love: Nurturing Yourself to Vibrant Health.”
The Inspire
Life Breathe Free Award is given to a
commercial entity and a private person each year to
recognize their commitment to further the mission of
the American Lung Association. This year’s honorees
will be event sponsor JFK Foundation in
recognition of their decision to become a smoke-free
campus this year. Past event chairwoman Dorothy
Bradshaw will be honored for her generosity and
personal commitment to the organization’s mission.
“My mother passed
away due to complications from COPD. I hope in some
small way my support will allow American Lung
Association to continue with the educational
programs and research that will one day prevent or
at least decrease the instances of COPD and other
lung diseases,” said Bradshaw.
In addition to a lovely
luncheon and lively silent auction, the guests will
hear stories of grace and courage from a lung cancer
survivor who will encourage guests to become their
own lung health advocate. Attendees are invited to
participate in a ‘remembrance’ ceremony during the
luncheon, which is a profoundly poignant reminder of
friends and loved ones who struggle with or have
been lost to lung disease.
We are also
extremely grateful for the diligence of our
Auction Chair, Lou Ann Wilson-Swan
for her tireless efforts in putting together a
fabulous raffle and silent auction. Luncheon
guests will also enjoy taking home beautiful goody
bags. Tickets are
$50 and may be purchased online at
www.breathefreeluncheon.org or by calling the
American Lung Association of Florida at
561-659-7644.
The American Lung
Association of Florida is grateful for the
generosity of event sponsors: AT&T The Real Yellow
Pages, JFK Medical Center Foundation, Kindred
Healthcare of South Florida, The Hanley Center,
Lewis, Longman & Walker, P.A., Sephora,
MacKenzie-Childs™
, Value Pawn, Kona Grill. The association offers
special thanks to Nick Tamposi and his family, for
their generous support of women’s lung cancer
awareness campaign and supporting the Inspire
Life Breathe Free Luncheon.
Because lung cancer
takes the lives of more women than breast, cervical,
and ovarian cancers combined, the
organization believes that it is critical to further
its mission of education, fundraising and advocacy
to combat those numbers and reach its goal to find
earlier and better diagnostics as well as a cure.
Now in its second
century, the American Lung Association is the
leading organization working to save lives by
improving lung health and preventing lung disease.
With your generous support, the American Lung
Association is “Fighting for Air” through research,
education and advocacy. For more information about
