When Atalia Katz traveled to
Ethiopia following a divorce,
little did she imagine
that the 12,000 photos she took during her nearly two-week stay would
become the basis for her first-time solo show at the
prestigious Zone: Contemporary Art gallery.Zone:
Contemporary Art's founder and director Dr. Jennifer
Bahng
says it's highly unusual for a relatively unknown
photographer to be given
a solo show, yet she was astonished by Katz's
extraordinary and captivating work and by her
mission to leverage her art to help the 8700
remaining Ethiopian Jews to return to Israel.
The show will be on display April 8 - 30,
2010 |
