Extraordinary Evening of Cocktails & Dinners
at
Private Residences

The Advisory Council of the Westhampton
Beach Performing Arts Center will launch the
first “Be Our Guest”, a gala evening
beginning with cocktails at a magnificent
estate followed by elegant dinners at
private homes in Westhampton, Westhampton
Beach, Quogue, Quogue and Remsenburg on
Friday August 20. The evening will benefit
the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center
(WHBPAC).
The culinary adventure will begin with
cocktails and hors d’oeuvres catered by Star
Boggs at the lovingly restored 1903 Seafield
estate located at 66 Seafield Lane in
Westhampton Beach, NY hosted by WHBPAC Board
Chairman Len Conway.
The historic waterfront mansion is one of
the grandest ever built on the East End
exuding a sense of elegance and style rarely
seen. It was originally designed in 1903, by
Henry Bacon, best known for his
design of the Lincoln Memorial.
Sixty-four century-old Catalpa trees line
the stately driveway and define the
perimeters of this beautifully landscaped
estate.
To make the evening a
complete experience, following cocktails,
you can choose to depart to one of ten
private residences in Westhampton Beach,
Westhampton, Quiogue, Quogue or Remsenburg
for elegant dining in quintessential
Hamptons’ style. Each of the guest hosts has
created a special menu and/or theme for your
dining experience. And, you get to choose,
in advance, from superb menus and settings
from “Taste of Land and Sea” at a historic
home (the former Phipps-Tuttle House), the
oldest home in Remsenburg to
“A Piece of
Tuscany in Quiogue” at an Italian style
palazzo to a
“Summer Feast” featuring local seafood and
seasonal bounty fresh from the garden at a
stunning oceanfront estate in Quogue
Among the guests attending the gala will be
best-selling authors Helen Simonson
who wrote “Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand” and
Margaret M. Johnson who penned “The
Irish Heritage Cook Book” and “Tea &
Crumpets” and noted chef Andrea Glick
of Le Bernardin fame.
Following cocktails, guests will depart to
private residences for elegant dining in
quintessential Hamptons style at 8pm. Each
of the guest hostesses has created a special
menu and/or theme for your dining
experience. Attendees will choose in advance
from a veritable smorgasbord offering superb
menus and settings from an elegantly
appointed contemporary eco-sensitive bay
front home to the oldest house in Remsenburg
circa 1757. Among the dining options are:
Event Co-Chair Patty Allen, widow of
famed composer Robert Allen who wrote
such memorable songs as “Chances Are”, “It’s
Not For Me to Say”, “Moments to Remember”
and scores more classics has invited top
British singer and songwriter Nick Howard
to perform on her late husband’s grand piano
for her guests prior to sitting down to a
French seafood dinner at her beautifully
landscaped waterfront Quogue home.
Co-chair Lorrie Gordon and her
husband Harold Gordon plan to serve a
“Taste of Land and Sea” at their historic
home (the former Phipps-Tuttle House), the
oldest home in Remsenburg. Lorrie has long
studied cooking including for a brief time
with acclaimed chef Eric Ripert.
Jane
and Bob Dell’s Quiogue
waterfront traditional home will be the
setting for another Italian feast. Their
dinner, inspired by their many trips to
Italy, will focus on Milan. Americana buffs
will delight in the original ice house on
the property.
Cynthia and Neal Hochman are
planning an evening to transport their
guests to the Cote D’Azur with a “Taste of
France”. With stunning views from their bay
front home surrounded by roses, diners will
truly feel they are on the fabled Riviera.
For audiophiles, the Hochmans have an
enviable collection of vintage Emerson
radios on display. The Hochmans also live
just a short walk from the Seafield estate.
At there oceanfront property in Quogue,
Marjorie and Jimmy Kuhn will be
offering a summer feast of local seafood and
seasonal bounty fresh from the garden
Popular radio & TV sports personality Ann
Liguori is drawing from her roots to
create a Sicilian feast paired with the
lusty wines for which the island is famed.
Also going Italian - style are Joan
and Marvin Levan. Joan, an
accomplished cook, specializes in creating
traditional Northern Italian dishes using
authentic ingredients and promises bountiful
platters of pasta and other regional
favorites at their “tasting party”.
Tara
and Jeff Liddle will welcome guests
to their Tuscan Villa for “A Piece of
Tuscany in Quiogue”. Guests will enter
through the gates into an Italian palazzo.
The warm tones of the stone and stucco
provide an inviting feeling both inside and
out. Guests will feel as if they have
stepped into another time. Built around an
inner courtyard, most of the rooms embrace
the pool and outdoor dining area. Dinner may
be served inside or al fresco-weather
permitting. The Liddles will serve a classic
end of Summer Shore Dinner accompanied by
great wines from their private cellar
Guests at the Phillips Creek side home of
Pat and Robert Middleman will sip
sangria and margaritas and tuck into a
wonderful Mariscada (Spanish fish stew) to
the strains of guitar music. Doctors
Robin and David Nijankin invite
guests to their Bayside Paradise for a heart
healthy “Surf & Turf” repast in their
exquisitely furnished eco-sensitive
Remsenburg home. The Nijankins have
transformed a one time summer home into an
eco-friendly showcase utilizing “natures
best” – bamboo floors and ceilings,
parchment grass wall cloths and indigenous
woods throughout.
The Advisory Council is headed up by
Mary Skillern who also serves on the
WHBPAC Board.
Be Our Guest Co-chairs
are
Patty Allen
and Lorrie Gordon. The committee for
the event includes Linda Kaye,
Tara Liddle, Pat Middleman and
Robin Nijankin.
The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center
is a vibrant venue for theater, music, dance
and film, serving patrons on the East End
and across Long Island. From world class
artists to supporting students through the
participation of children in local school
productions, the Center's stage serves as a
year-round focal point for the area's
diverse community. Its growing popularity

The cocktail reception is from 6pm to 8pm.
The private dinners start at 8pm.
Tickets for the dinner
and cocktails are $200 per person. Tickets
