MAYOR MICHAEL BLOOMBERG, GEORGE
STEPHANOPOULOS AND ALEXANDRA WENTWORTH
SUPPORT CURE’S 3rd ANNUAL
NEW YORK CITY BENEFIT FOR RESEARCH IN
EPILEPSY
WHAT:
To support research progress and
the inspiration of a future without
epilepsy, Good Morning America and
ABC News anchor George Stephanopolous
and actress/writer Alexandra Wentworth will
join Mayor Michael Bloomberg at The
Roosevelt Hotel on Thursday, October
14 at 5:30pm for Citizens United for
Research in Epilepsy’s (CURE) 3rd Annual New
York City Benefit.
CURE, chaired by Susan Axelrod, is a
nonprofit organization supported by parents
of children with epilepsy. CURE has raised
more than $15 million to fund research and
other initiatives to find a cure for
epilepsy.
The benefit serves as a key fundraising
initiative for the spring grant cycle, while
informing the public of the importance of
advancing research for the life-threatening
disease. It is estimated that 2 of the 3
million Americans with epilepsy do not have
complete seizure control, or only experience
seizure control at the cost of debilitating
side effects from medications.
CURE’s benefit in New York City is one of
four stops across the nation, including
Boston, Chicago and
San Francisco.
