Destination Delray Beach will
be hosting a special
Pro-Bowl
Kickoff Weekend celebration,
January 28-30. The 2010 Pro Bowl will be played one
week before the Super Bowl on Sunday, January 31,
and both games will at Dolphin Stadium.
Cathy Balestriere, general manager of Crane’s
BeachHouse Hotel & Tiki Bar and chairman of the
City’s newly created tourism task force, is inviting
the public to participate in this “fun and festive
event for the whole family. It will also be a great
opportunity to meet and greet more than a dozen Pro
Football stars who will be staying and playing in
Delray Beach that whole weekend.”
Among those expected to participate are:
+ Jamal Lewis, RB for the Cleveland Browns
+ Brandon Flowers, Starting DB for the Kansas
City Chiefs (Atlantic High School, Virginia Tech)
+ David Clowney, WR for the NY Jets (Atlantic
High School, Virginia Tech)
+ Sabby Piscatelli, Starting Safety for the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Boca Raton High School, Oregon
State University)
+ Abe Elam, Starting Safety for the Cleveland
Browns (Cardinal Newman High School)
+ Pierre Garcon, Starting WR for the
Indianapolis Colts (John I. Leonard High School)
+ Will Middleton, Rookie DB for Jacksonville
Jaguars (Furman University)
+ Tyrone McKenzie, Rookie LB for the New
England Patriots

Kickoff Weekend will include:
Thursday, January 28 – 6 to 10 p.m.
Super Art & Jazz on
the Avenue
Sponsored by Downtown Delray Beach)
(Along Atlantic
Avenue)
Interactive contests
including Punt, Pass & Kick; FAU football players,
cheerleaders and Coach Howard Schnellenberger;
football players, cheerleaders and the marching band
from Atlantic High School; Delray Beach’s Rocks
football players; Super Bowl merchandise and more.
Friday, January 29 – 5 to 9 p.m.
Pro Players Meet & Greet and Tailgate Party
(Along Ocean Blvd,
south of Atlantic Avenue)
Starting at 5 p.m., the Santaluces High School’s
Marching Chiefs Drumline, reigning champions of
the 2009 Florida Marching Band Competition, will
drum their way from Crane’s BeachHouse at 82 Gleason
Street up to Atlantic Avenue, east to Ocean Blvd,
then a block or so south to the main stage, where
they will perform a short but rousing percussion
concert.
During the last leg of their march, the drummers
will be joined by a number of official NFL Players.
Tailgaters can meet the Pro Football stars and get
their autographs at the open Pavilion on Ocean Blvd.
The restaurants Boston’s, Luna Rosa and Sliders will
provide food and beverages for purchase, and ESPN
760 will broadcast live from the event. Live
entertainment also will be provided.
Saturday, January 30 – 2:30 t0 5:30 p.m.
Pinball Palooza Family Day:
Pinball Meets Football!
(Cornell Museum of Art & Culture at Old School
Square)
Another chance to
personally meet and greet and participating football
greats. Spin to win a place in the Kids vs. Pro
Players arcade game challenge. See amazing pinball
machines and more. Free and ticketed game
activities. $5 family admission (arcade games not
included).
