More than 120,000 families have stayed at a Fisher House,
saving more than $140 million.
(WASHINGTON, DC) – The
Fisher
House Foundation today announced that it will be the
beneficiary of the auction of a custom-built
United States Army Chopper autographed by President
Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and
National Security Advisor General James L. Jones, Jr.
The motorcycle will be auctioned by esteemed motor vehicle
auction house
Barrett-Jackson on September 23-25 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The motorcycle, designed and built by
Hard Core Choppers, Inc., is believed to be the only
motorcycle ever signed by a sitting President. It was
donated for auction by Jim Jones, CEO of Dynology
and son of National Security Advisor General James L. Jones,
Jr.
“We are grateful to be the beneficiaries of this tremendous
generosity,” said Dave Coker, President of the Fisher
House Foundation. “We hope that people will bid with their
hearts, knowing that they are providing invaluable
assistance to those who have served and sacrificed for our
country and to the families that have stood with and
supported our service men and women.”
“In addition to inspiring motorcycle enthusiasts everywhere,
the US Army Chopper was originally created to raise money
for charitable organizations in the DC area,” said Mr.
Jones. “Being involved with charities for most of my
life, the idea that this incredible bike could continue to
once again benefit families and children in their time of
need was something my father and I agreed was a much higher
purpose for this machine.”

About the Chopper:
Evoking the great European racecars of the 1950s, this
unique chopper features an intricate Army P40 Warhawk
"theme" paint job and goes from zero to 60 mph in 2.7
seconds with a top speed of 160 mph. The six speed
transmission is mated to a huge, 127-inch, super
High-Performance 150 HP engine that produces 145 lbs of
torque. Avon tires cover the 18-inch rear and 21-inch front
"speedster" wheels to add to the thrill ride experience.
Six-piston caliper Jay brakes will stop the bike in an
instant. Aircraft quality wiring, a dove leather seat,
handmade "two into one", stainless steel exhaust, and HC
"speedster" bars with internal clutch and throttle complete
this incredible package.
