Will Fund Local Education & Support Programs for People with
Cancer and Their Loved Ones
WHO:
Local companies, organizations, civic groups, and
individuals who want to help raise money for breast cancer
support and research in the Delaware Valley. This year marks the 15th year that
Lee Denim has sponsored this event. Felicity Huffman, star
of ABC’s Desperate Housewives, has been named 2010
ambassador for
Lee
National Denim Day.
Proceeds from this event support three groundbreaking
initiatives: The EIF Breast Cancer Biomarker Discovery
Project, which is developing a blood test for earlier
detection of breast cancer; Lee Laboratories, a collection
of six of the nation’s leading breast cancer research
institutions; and Cancer
Support Community and its affiliates nationwide,
including Gilda’s Club
Delaware Valley and
The Wellness
Community of Philadelphia,
which provide social and emotional support to all people
affected by cancer.
WHAT:
Local members of Gilda’s
Club Delaware Valley and
The Wellness Community of Philadelphia, both affiliates
of the Cancer Support Community, are urging local residents to
join the nation in putting on their favorite blue jeans as
part of Lee National Denim Day. Funds raised will benefit
cancer education and support programs and breast cancer
research nationwide.

2010. Registration is available now and individuals and
teams can register until the day of the event.
HOW:
