It will be a night to remember at Palm Beach Dramaworks'
10th Anniversary Gala - an evening of dinner and
entertainment on Wednesday, March 17th (6:30PM) to benefit
West Palm Beach's only professional theater company, Palm
Beach Dramaworks at
The Kravis Center (701 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach).
Co-chaired by Esther and Sid Dinerstein, the evening
begins with a celebratory cocktail hour where talented
students from The Dreyfoos W. School of the Arts will whet
the crowd?s appetite performing a medley of Broadway
classics arranged and directed by Dreyfoos School 's Teacher
of Musical Theatre, Craig Ames. From there, a
Floral Emporium enhanced setting of dramatic style sets
the stage for dinner, dancing, and sensational musical
entertainment by Dramaworks' alumni, vocalist Shelley
Keelor and accompanist Paul Reekie. Dramatic
proscenium design and other alluring touches will complete
the magical setting, courtesy of The Breakers Palm Beach.
In honor of the organization's decade-long reputation of
bringing some of the finest theatre to the Palm Beaches, a
short feature film produced especially for the gala evening
will have its world premiere and highlight the
company's remarkable artistic achievements, along with
commentary from Producing Artistic Director William
Hayes, many outstanding citizens from the Palm Beach
community and a special tribute from one of the world's
greatest playwrights of all time,
Edward Albee.
The coveted
Shelly Award---bestowed
for singular support of theatre---will also be presented
during the festivities.
