SELF-GUIDED TOURS WITH A SPECIAL OPENING RECEPTION,

from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at 226 E. 42nd Street between 2nd and
3rd Avenues. THE MUSEUM focuses on exploring
the dynamics of racism and prejudice in America,
international human rights
and the history of the Holocaust, FEATURING THE FOLLOWING
EXHIBITS: The Power of
Words -
a film that demonstrates how modern-day figures used words
to instill hope while extremists used that same power to
incite hatred; The Point
of
View Diner - a cyber-café that screens scenarios
that portray escalating conflict;
The Millennium Machine
- a media presentation that focuses on pressing global human
rights issues such as the exploitation of women and children
and refugees; The Hall of
Memory - a theater that presents a thought
provoking film, In Our Time, where the participants witness
examples of genocide in the 20th & 21st centuries and
reflect upon the lessons of history for today. Please note:
Exhibits are recommended for adults and students ages 12 and
up.
