The Big Apple Feis
will kick off a week of St. Patrick’s Day festivities with a Big Apple Irish
Idol and a Bachelor and Bachelorette of the Year competition on Friday evening
March 12.
Competitions in both music and dance will commence on Saturday morning, March 13
and continue through Sunday, March 14. In addition, there will be readings and
workshops throughout the weekend in Irish song, music, literature and dance.
We have a wonderful lineup of
entertainment for the Gala,
which begins with a cocktail
party from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
on Saturday, March 13.
Featured entertainment will
include dancers from The Trinity
Academy of Irish Dance; an
excerpt from the George C.
Heslin play Great American White
Teeth by Fiona Walsh; and music
by Deirdre Danaher on the harp,
Anna Colliton on the bodhrán and
Tony DeMarco on the fiddle.
The dinner dance will run from
8:00pm to 11:00pm and we are
thrilled to announce that Girsa,
the all-female traditional Irish
band will be performing.
We will be honoring two important artists who have made significant
contributions to Irish arts and
