Oriental, 80 Columbus Circle, New York City. The gala benefit celebrates
15 years of preparing
minds for
the possibilities of the future
and will pay tribute to
Ambassador
Carl
Spielvogel with the Lifetime of
Public Service
award.
He has been involved in numerous
national and international
civic, cultural,
governmental and educational organizations.
Ms. Patti LaBelle, celebrated
singer,
songwriter, actress
and author, will be presented with the Humanitarian Award. B. Smith,
style icon, author
and founder/chief
creative officer, B. Smith Enterprise,
Ltd., will serve
as master
of ceremonies for the evening with
Maurice
DuBois, CBS news anchor,
delivering
the welcoming
remarks. Urban Tech, founded in 1995, connects students and
families, in under-served communities, to digital literacy, comprehensive health education and life skills that are
critical to academic success.
