WHO:
The Children’s Tumor Foundation will present the
Children’s Humanitarian Award to the Quicken Loans Family
of Companies and Roger Packer, MD, of the
Children’s National Medical Center, in recognition of their
support of neurofibromatosis (NF)research. NF is a genetic
disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the
body. It can cause blindness, deafness, disfigurement and
disabling pain.

Chairman and Founder of the Quicken Loans Family of
Companies,and the Gilbert Neurofibromatosis Institute.
Accepting the award on behalf of the companywill be
Bill Emerson, CEO of Quicken Loans.
Nick Gilbert,
son of Jennifer and Dan Gilbert, was diagnosed with NF as a
toddler and is this year’s Children’s Tumor Foundation
Ambassador.
The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will
be Zach Braff.
WHY: Millions
of people living with NF need effective treatments and a
cure.
