Nominations Now Being Accepted
The 2012 gala will take people where they’ve never gone
before!
The Palm Beach County Cultural Council and co-chairs Jean
Sharf and Beth Neuhoff present the 2012 Muse Awards gala at
the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Cohen Pavilion
February 9, 6:00 p.m.
The Muse Awards honor outstanding individuals and
organizations
for their contributions to arts and culture throughout Palm Beach County.
This is the only awards program of its kind in South
Florida. The annual event includes dynamic award
presentations, exciting performances and there’s a special
twist for 2012: Guests will be taken “Behind the Scenes” and
get an exclusive look at the great lengths some of our
cultural organizations travel in staging their
world-class programming.
Muse Award nominations are now being accepted. The Muse
Awards is the community's opportunity to recognize
outstanding organizations, programs, board members, staff,
sponsors, volunteers, advocates, donors, educators, unsung
heroes and others who help make Palm Beach County Florida’s
Cultural Capital. Nominations are open in the following
categories:
Civic Leader
This award will be given to an individual exhibiting strong
and sustained leadership in developing, supporting and
promoting Palm Beach County’s arts and cultural assets.
Cultural Leader
This award will recognize an individual demonstrating
leadership, passion and commitment in an effort to grow or
transform an emerging or established organization.
Arts Educator
The recipient of this award has shown accomplishments in
advancing art and cultural education for students in Palm
Beach County.
Arts & Cultural Organization (Budget Under $500,000)
Arts & Cultural Organization (Budget Over $500,000)
These two awards recognize organizational contributions that
have greatly improved the quality of life in Palm Beach
County.
Art or Cultural Program of the Year
This award recognizes creative, innovative, original or
exemplary programming by an organization in areas that
include, but are not limited to, the visual arts, performing
arts, art education, preservation, conservation, history,
science, music, advocacy, children/youth, and public art.
Hector Ubertalli Award for Visual Artists
The Ubertalli Award recognizes a visual artist whose life
and work emulates excellence in the field and contributes to
the advancement of our quality of life in Palm Beach County
by mentoring, teaching, or sharing work methods with others
in our community.
To be considered for the award, an artist must be nominated
by
his or her professional peers.
Council’s Choice Award
This non-competitive award of special merit will honor an
individual or institution the Council deems worthy of
recognition for an effort or accomplishment not honored in
another category. The honoree will be chosen at the
Council’s discretion and may be drawn from the pool of
nomination forms submitted or selected by other means.

The public is invited to submit nominations, which are due
by September 30th, 5:00 p.m.
All award recipients will be announced prior to being
honored
at the gala.
Proceeds from the 2012 Muse Awards will benefit the
Council’s
Arts and Cultural Education Fund.
Individual tickets to the Muse Awards gala are $300.
