February 9, 2012

Muse Awards Nominations Now Being Accepted

The 2012 gala will take people where they’ve never gone before!

The Palm Beach County Cultural Council and co-chairs Jean Sharf and Beth Neuhoff present the 2012 Muse Awards gala at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Cohen Pavilion February 9, 6:00 p.m.

The Muse Awards honor outstanding individuals and organizations
for their contributions to arts and culture throughout Palm Beach County. This is the only awards program of its kind in South Florida. The annual event includes dynamic award presentations, exciting performances and there’s a special twist for 2012: Guests will be taken “Behind the Scenes” and get an exclusive look at the great lengths some of our cultural organizations travel in staging their
world-class programming.

Muse Award nominations are now being accepted. The Muse Awards is the community's opportunity to recognize outstanding organizations, programs, board members, staff, sponsors, volunteers, advocates, donors, educators, unsung heroes and others who help make Palm Beach County Florida’s Cultural Capital. Nominations are open in the following categories:

Civic Leader

This award will be given to an individual exhibiting strong and sustained leadership in developing, supporting and promoting Palm Beach County’s arts and cultural assets.

Cultural Leader

This award will recognize an individual demonstrating leadership, passion and commitment in an effort to grow or transform an emerging or established organization.

Arts Educator

The Ubertalli Award recognizes a visual artist whose life and work emulates excellence in the field and contributes to the advancement of our quality of life in Palm Beach County by mentoring, teaching, or sharing work methods with others in our community.
To be considered for the award, an artist must be nominated by
his or her professional peers.

Council’s Choice Award

This non-competitive award of special merit will honor an individual or institution the Council deems worthy of recognition for an effort or accomplishment not honored in another category. The honoree will be chosen at the Council’s discretion and may be drawn from the pool of nomination forms submitted or selected by other means.

For nomination forms and more information about the 2012 Muse Awards, visit:
The public is invited to submit nominations, which are due by September 30th, 5:00 p.m.
