The Children’s
Aid Society to Honor Citi,
Bill McDermott, SAP Co-CEO
at Second Annual
‘Keeping the Promise’ Gala

What: Over 500 people will gather on Thursday night to
celebrate The Children’s Aid Society’s nearly 160 years of
service to children and families in poverty, and to honor
corporate partners who demonstrate significant commitment to
improving the lives of children in high-needs New York City
neighborhoods.
This second annual gala will feature a program with
President & CEO Richard R. Buery, Jr. and children who
benefit from Children’s Aid Society’s over 100 programs and
services. The event is expected to raise $1.4 million to
support programs for low-income families across New York
City.
Who: Citi will be presented with the Corporate Leadership
Award for the company’s significant support to strengthen
the core work of The Children’s Aid Society and to expand
the efforts of our National Center for Community Schools.
Gene McQuade, CEO of Citibank, N.A. and trustee of the Boys
& Girls Clubs of America, will accept the award on behalf of
Citi.
Bill McDermott, Co-CEO and Executive Board member of SAP AG,
will receive the Promise Award in tribute to SAP’s
commitment to building an environment that enhances
education and entrepreneurship, and its growing partnership
with Children’s Aid.
The Children’s Aid Society is an independent, not-for-profit
organization established to serve the children of New York

and thrive. We do this by providing comprehensive supports
to children and their families in targeted high-needs New
