GET WILD Summer Gala

Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons
will bring untamed excitement to the island this season with
its GET WILD Summer Gala, chaired by Beth
Ostrosky Stern, Christopher Obetz and Ellen
Scarborough. On Saturday, August 11, 2012, the gala will
celebrate the rehabilitation and successful release of Long
Island's native wildlife.
Guests are
encouraged to kick off their shoes and enjoy the evening
barefoot on Southampton’s Dune Beach. The night’s events
will include a clambake, musical entertainment by Jetty
Four, dancing and a special appearance from some furry
and feathered friends. The event will also include a silent
auction, featuring exclusive items such as a men’s bomber
jacket by Nautica, a ladies packable zip jacket by
The Laundry, a masterpiece oil painting portrait session
by Kramer Portraits, a one night stay at Hyatt
East End with tickets to the Long Island Aquarium,
a snowy owl sculpture, original lithography by June
Kluglein, a heavy cast bronze Chinese bell and
additional items from Christopher Fischer Cashmere,
Angelo David Salon, Hatherleigh Press,
Sotto Sopra, The Enclave Inn and 75 Main.

EVELYN ALEXANDER WILDLIFE RESCUE CENTER OF THE HAMPTONS:
The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons
is a nonprofit wildlife hospital dedicated to the
rehabilitation of injured, sick and orphaned wild animals in
order to return them to their natural habitat. The Center is
a full-time professional wildlife hospital staffed by
veterinarians, licensed rehabilitators, biologists,
animal
behaviorists and volunteers.
The Center also provides educational programs to
local elementary and secondary schools, and invites students
from local colleges participate in cooperative education
programs and internships. A grassroots organization, the
Center has grown from a few concerned friends to a group of
more than 1,000 members and supporters, and receives more
than 10,000 requests for information or assistance each
year. Located in a unique and irreplaceable ecosystem,
the facility consists of
salt and fresh water wetlands, pine barrens, deciduous
forest and meadowland. The hospital at the Evelyn Alexander
Wildlife Rescue Center is designed exclusively for wild
animals. Unlike veterinary hospitals, the space is free of
any ambient noises or smells to stress the animals that are
recovering within. The Evelyn
Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons, Inc. is a
