Haymakers for Hope teams with BOX NYC for a
one-of-a-kind event taking top business executives from the board room to
the boxing ring-to literally fight for a
cure for cancer
Haymakers for Hope, a non-profit organization, is to provide
the unique opportunity for employees at some of the most
powerful corporations in the world to get in the boxing
ring-all for a good cause.
Following two successful events in Boston, each raising over
$200,000, Haymakers for Hope, a charity whose tag line
reads, "Not every fight ends at the bell", has teamed up
with Box NYC to host the first ever Box NYC/Haymakers for
Hope fight night. Box NYC is an event that for the last 6
years has been produced by WCMG Events. Through this
collaboration, BOX NYC has radically changed its format, as
it is now a non-profit event that features different types
of fighters.
The event will feature boxing matches between front-office
workers at some of the most prestigious investment banks and
hedge funds in the world, including Goldman Sachs, Credit
Suisse, Citi, and Millennium Capital. Professionals from the
airline, real estate, and other influential industries will
also participate in the fight to battle cancer.
Haymakers for Hope began in 2009 when co-founders Julie Anne
Kelly and Andrew Myerson met though training for the New
York City Golden Gloves tournament. An official 501(c)(3)
charity organization which raises money through boxing,
their innovative mission aims to humanize the sport and
lower the barrier to entry for people to get a chance to
fight- all with the ultimate goal of benefiting cancer
research. Despite its young stage, Haymakers for Hope has
already raised $561,000 towards cancer research and
awareness, and continues to grow.
Aimed towards the Wall
Street community, BOX NYC is an event full of intense
boxing matches between the most competitive executives in
the business, a Texas Hold ‘em Poker Tournament, dinner and
cocktails, with all proceeds Haymakers for Hope cancer
research organization.

About Haymakers for Hope
Our mission is to knockout cancer the only way we know how,
by literally fighting for a cure. We give everyday men and
women the opportunity to fight back against this terrible
disease by training for, and competing in charity boxing
events to raise money and awareness. To prepare for each
event, we combine the efforts of first time amateur boxing
participants, local boxing gyms and volunteers. We hope to
help give lifesaving researchers the resources needed to
fully focus their efforts on finding a cure.
