New Rochelle Humane Society to Honor Four
May 17 at Pelham Country Club
The
New Rochelle Humane Society will honor four distinguished
animal lovers and advocates at its May 17th “Paws
for a Heart” celebration at the Pelham Country Club in
Pelham Manor.
Honorees include Michele and Ross Greenburg
of Larchmont, Jonathan C. Jankus of White Plains and Anthony
Rubio of New York. The event takes place from 6:30 to 9:30
p.m. and features silent and live auctions, dinner by the
bite and lots of fun!
Founded in 1911, the New Rochelle Humane
Society has cared for thousands of animals and found loving
homes for them. A private, not-for-profit animal shelter
dedicated to providing individual loving care for lost,
abandoned, injured, and mistreated animals, NRHS takes in
over 500 dogs and 700 cats each year. NRHS also provides
animal rescue services in 17 Westchester communities
including Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Eastchester, Elmsford,
Greenburgh, Harrison, Hartsdale, Hastings, Irvington,
Larchmont, Mamaroneck (Village), New Rochelle, Pelham Manor,
Rye, Rye Brook, Scarsdale and Tarrytown.
Michele Greenburg is a licensed
master social worker at Jacobi Hospital’s Child Advocacy
Center.
A social worker for the past 25 years, she
began her career as a child and family therapist. Onthe
faculty of the New York State Child Advocacy Resource and
Consultation Center, she provides training to agencies who
deal with child abuse.
Ross Greenburg is recognized as one
of the most innovative producers and best storytellers in
television history. He created Ross Greenburg Productions
after a 33 year career at HBO where most recently he served
as president of HBO Sports for eleven years. Michele and
Ross Greenburg have adopted two dogs from the New Rochelle
Humane Society. In 2003 they adopted "Buster" who lived a
full and happy life, and in September 2011 they adopted
"Angie" who is living the good life in their home.
Jonathan C. Jankus is managing director of structured
investments for The Guardian. He was chief investment
strategist for global bonds at Barclay Investments and
served for 14 years atKidder, Peabody & Co. where he was
engaged in quantitative investment research and portfolio
management. Mr. Jankus is a dedicated volunteer at the
shelter where he helps dogs get adopted into loving homes.
Anthony Rubio is an internationally
acclaimed pet
couturier whose one of kind creations have
been featured all over the globe.
An ardent animal rescue supporter, Mr. Rubio
champions pet adoptionand is an avid fundraiser for homeless
animals.
There will be a special guest appearance by Rick Caran and
Team Jill Dog. Tickets are $100 per person.
