Toy Drive for the
Children
in
The Rockaways
affected by Hurricane Sandy
Saturday, December

St Francis De Sales
Church Parking lot
- 129-16 Rockaway Beach Blvd,
Belle Harbor, NY 11694
We have been volunteering in Belle Harbor and
have been informed that there will be a need for children’s
gifts and toys for the holidays. We would hope you can open
your hearts and help alleviate some of the suffering for the
children, the littlest victims, by making their holidays a
little less painful. We are anxious to get some corporate
sponsors on board as time is of the essence. If you wish to
donate, we would greatly appreciate it!
What happens in our communities is important
to us. This is where we live; where we play; where we raise
our families; enjoy the company of our neighbors; and create
memories.
At times, however, there are things that
happen in our community that warrants help.
And, as in most communities, there are two
issues that can hamper our efforts — time and money.
It takes considerable resources to get
communities activated around a cause and frankly, keep them
activated. With the help of all of you, the press and
media, we can utilize a variety of tools to rally the
troops, keep the neighborhood engaged and plan this
Christmas Of Love "For The Children".
After almost three weeks since the
devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy hit New York and New
Jersey, our Armed Forces, Firefighters, Police Officers, EMS
Personnel, nurses, and teachers continue to serve our city
keeping our city and us safe and secure.
Many of these rescuers were personally
affected and left homeless after Sandy hit our shores.
Driven by duty and honor, these men and women
have carried on with their mission despite their personal
losses.
We need everyone’s help to put on a fun and
inspiring event for the children and families that lost
everything. We are planning a Breakfast with Santa in The
Rockaways for all the children.
We need help from corporate sponsors and
other organizations that would like to partner up with us.
We need a ****** Christmas Angel****** We know the outburst
of help from everyone has been phenomenal in the relief
efforts from everyone far and near and there are ongoing
events for the recovery efforts, but this is also the
Holiday Season and lets help make a positive memory for the
children that lost everything. Navillus Construction,
Empire City Casino, the Aisling Irish Center, Mineola Irish
American Center, Emerald Isle Immigration Center, NY Irish
Center in Queens, have confirmed their help as drop off
points and help to get volunteers… Navillus is providing
storage units to hold the toys down at one of the rescue
sites and will give us the tents for the Breakfast. They
are also making available a truck for pick-up of
toys at various locations.
We need toys, toys, and more toys. There are
thousands of children that have been displaced. We need
more drop off centers ~ we need volunteers and sponsors. We
need a “Christmas Angel”
Please help put a smile on the children and
their parent’s faces. Letting them rebuild their memories
of the Holiday Season.
