WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT
LONGEST CONGA ON ICE
AT CANARY WHARF
-
12th November at Canada Square Park –
Get in the
festive spirit this November and help to raise money for
Children In Need by joining the exciting attempt to break a
world record for the longest conga on ice, which currently
stands at 259 people.
Set amidst the glittering tress and dizzying towers of
Canada Square Park, Canary Wharf’s spectacular ice rink will
provide the stage for 300 fundraising participants to take
on the title of ‘The Longest Conga on Ice’.
After registering from 6.00 – 6.30 pm, skaters will receive
skating tips from an expert coach before challenging the
world record at 7.15 pm. Then from 7.30 pm, enjoy a free
skate and a hard-earned cup of warm mulled wine from
Boisdales, the 50s themed rink-side bar.
The Canary Wharf Ice Rink, which opened its doors for the
ninth winter running in late October, features London’s only
skate path. This illuminated track through the trees which
adjoins the main rink and encircles Ron Arad’s iconic Big
Blue, will
provide a gangway for the mighty conga to move round.
