The It Happened To
Alexa Foundation has announced that their inaugural
fund-raising event, on Friday, April 12, 2013, will be a
gourmet dinner at the world-renowned Tony’s Restaurant in
Houston, Texas. Guest speaker at the dinner, hosted by
Donna and Tony Vallone, will be Bill O’Reilly from Fox News
Channel’s, “The O’Reilly Factor”. O’Reilly says of the
Alexa Foundation: “I support the Alexa Foundation because
justice requires it. This is a movement to help rape
victims started by a victim herself. This is the epitome of
a noble cause.”
There will be a VIP reception, book signing and photo
opportunity with Bill O’Reilly at 7;00 p.m. and the keynote
address will be at 8:30 p.m. Chairs for this exciting event
are Lisa and Jerry Smith, Sherry and Jim Smith, Nina and Edd
Hendee, and JoLynn and Gregg Falgout. Honorary chairs are
Elizabeth and Anthony DeLuca and Cindy and Mike Gatewood.
Individual tickets begin at $400 and Grand sponsorships begin at $3,000.
“The It Happened to Alexa Foundation is the only
organization of its kind in the United States,” notes the
foundation’s executive director, Ellen Augello. “We provide
financial and emotional support to survivors of sexual
assault and their family members or trusted friends in their
efforts to achieve justice. The foundation’s hope is that
more survivors will participate in legal proceedings so that
sexual violent crimes will be diminished,” Augello said.
