Women announces
The 2013 Gala
Celebrating Italian Food, Wine & Opera
New York…. Donatella Arpaia, renowned
restaurateur, celebrity chef, author and television
personality will be honored on Monday, April 29th
at the 2013 National Organization of Italian American
Women (NOIAW) Gala, Celebrating Italian Food, Wine &
Opera being held at The Pierre, 2 East 61st
St, in New York City.
Gala proceeds will help support the
development and implementation of NOIAW programs which
include: Scholarship Programs providing financial
assistance to deserving young Italian American women
pursuing their education; Cultural Exchange Programs
providing a culturally enriching and educational experience
for Italian and Italian American college students, and
monthly member programs, offering cultural, social,
educational and networking opportunities and events.

family, food and shared moments was first ignited in Naples
and Puglia, birthplace of my parents. We spent our summers
there with family and friends. My rich experiences guided me
in my journey into adulthood where I am deeply engaged in
the world of food, business and entertaining,” says
Donatella.
NOIAW’s 2013 Gala celebrates the triumphs of
women of Italian heritage. The Friend of NOIAW Award will be
presented to The Honorable Natalia Quintavalle,
Consul General of Italy in New York. Other
exciting
additions to the Gala are two pre-Gala presentations:
Winebow, a leading importer of premium Italian wines
in the United States, will present Italian Women in
Wine: A Guided Tasting, featuring their wines from
its extensive Italian portfolio. Tenor Luciano Lamonarca,
from the Puglia region of Italy, studied with Gino Lorusso
Toma, and is often compared to Enrico Caruso, will present
Food, Wine, and Opera, The Perfect Triad.
The Master of Ceremonies will be Ornella Fado,
Creator, Author and Television Hostess of Brindiamo!,
broadcast on NYC LIFE channel 25.
