Something new and exciting is coming to South Palm Beach
County to celebrate all the good in our community: THE EVENT
on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Featuring stage and screen
star Josh Malina, currently with the hit TV show Scandal,
THE EVENT will bring together people from throughout our
vibrant Jewish community -
for a night that will make them even prouder to part of it.
At Boca West Country Club, 20583 Boca West Drive, Boca
Raton, the cocktails & hors d'oeuvres will begin at 6:30 pm,
with the program starting at 7:30.
“There’s a new feeling of connection in our Jewish
community, and THE EVENT will celebrate and amplify this
growing awareness and joy in how, together, we do such
extraordinary things, ” said new Matthew C. Levin, President
& CEO of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County.
“From throughout all our streams of Judaism and our diverse
Jewish institutions, together we feed, protect, teach,
inspire, save and comfort so many in need right here, in
Israel and around the world – and together we have
unsurpassed potential to do even more.”
“It’s a new event for a new day in our Jewish community,”
said Debra Halperin, who is chairing THE EVENT with her
husband, Dr. Larry Halperin. “We’re reaching out to
everyone, from newcomers, to longtime community leaders, to
those looking for a reunion with our revitalized energy.
Through the collective efforts of our community’s committed
individuals, families and agencies, we are able to do so
much good; it feels wonderful, and the passion keeps
building.”
“We’ve become a multigenerational Jewish community, and it’s
time to create an even larger, longstanding footprint of
caring,” continued Halperin. “Josh Malina will bring us an
inspiring as well as entertaining example of a successful
young family man grounded and fulfilled by living a Jewish
life.”
This special night benefiting the Jewish
Federation of South Palm Beach County will offer great food
(dietary laws observed), entertainment and company for a
couvert of $50 per person. A minimum family contribution of
$365 to the 2013 Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach
County Annual Campaign is required to attend THE EVENT.

A Short Bio of Josh Malina:
After graduating from Yale University with a B.A. in Theatre
Studies, Josh Malina made his professional acting debut in
the Broadway production of Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men. He
went on to star as Jeremy Goodwin in Sorkin’s critically
acclaimed television series Sports Night. Later, Josh
co-starred as Will Bailey in Sorkin’s multi-Emmy winning The
West Wing. Other Sorkin credits include the hit features The
American President and Malice. For three seasons, Josh
portrayed multi-millionaire Peter Alpert on USA Network’s
hit In Plain Sight. Josh’s film credits include the comedy A
View From The Top with Gwyneth Paltrow and Mike Meyers, In
The Line of Fire with Clint Eastwood, and Bulworth with
Warren Beatty and Halle Berry. He can be seen in the
upcoming films Knights of Badassdom and The First Time. Josh
currently co-stars on ABC’s hit drama Scandal.
