The Center for Family Services'
Sixteenth Annual Old
Bags Luncheon™,
one of the most popular luncheons of the season, will
take place at 10:30 am,
on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at The Breakers.
Linda Adelson, Lorrain Hall and Soula Rifkin will
serve as chairwomen.
Honorary chairs are Joan Klann and Kitty Silverstein
and Advisory chair is Judi Richards. This
electrifying event features
a magnificent silent auction of over 300 designer handbags,
jewelry, a raffle and a luncheon with comedian Darrell
Hammond.
For years now, Darrell Hammond has brought to life a
cavalcade of politicians, media figures, celebrities and
newsmakers on television. Every one of his impressions are
applauded by television critics and viewers alike, for their
accuracy and range. They include: Bill Clinton, Regis
Philbin, Dan Rather, John Travolta, Jesse Jackson, Richard
Dreyfus, Jay Leno, Donald Trump and Sean Connery in the
ever-popular
“Celebrity Jeopardy” skits.
He holds the title for being the longest running cast member
on Saturday
Night Live, for
the most impressions by a single SNL cast
member, and for the most times saying the show’s catch
phrase “Live From New York, It’s Saturday Night!”
In addition to his SNL appearances,
Hammond has been seen in a number of feature films,
television shows, and on Broadway. A truly versatile actor,
Darrell has displayed his talents in both dramatic and
comedic roles. Some of his feature films include: BUZZKILL, NETHERBEAST, WEINERS, SCARY
MOVIE 3, NEW
YORK MINUTE and EPIC
MOVIE. Darrell also starred with Anthony Hopkins and
Alec Baldwin in THE
DEVIL AND DANIEL WEBSTER. On television, he received
tremendous reviews for his portrayal of a deranged but
intense criminal defense lawyer in LAW
AND ORDER: SVU, and
has guest starred in the FX drama DAMAGES and
on LAW
AND ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT. He also had a recurring
role on the popular TV series ARE
WE THERE YET?
Darrell is still a favorite on the comedy circuit,
performing in New York and throughout the country. He
appears frequently on “LATE
SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN”, “THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO,”
“LATE NIGHT
WITH CONAN O’BRIEN” and “THE
HOWARD STERN SHOW.” He
continues to make cameo appearances on SNL, and
appears in several of the popular FUNNY
OR DIE episodes
on the internet.
He made his Broadway debut playing the role of Vice
Principal Douglas Panch in THE
25TH ANNUAL
PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, and
in the summer of 2011, Darrell starred in Bay Street
Theatre’s “TRU”.
Darrell is also a New York
Times bestselling
author. His book, “God
If You’re Not Up There, I’m F***ed: Tales
of Stand-Up, Saturday Night Live, and Other Mind-Altering
Mayhem” bravely
chronicles his personal journey through trauma and addiction
into recovery, and is being adapted into a Broadway play.
Darrell will entertain the crowd at The Center for Family
Services' Old Bags Luncheon™ with his impersonations and
share his personal story with the audience.
Proceeds from the Old
Bags Luncheon™ benefit
