NON-PROFIT HARK SOCIETY TO HOST
ITS SECOND ANNUAL EMERALD-TIE
GALA ON MARCH 22ND
On March 22nd, we are
celebrating Hark Society’s one-year anniversary by
hosting our star black-tie fundraiser, The
Emerald-Tie
Gala, at Guastavino’s. A group of young professionals
dedicated to helping inner-city children gain access to
afterschool programs, we are looking forward to throwing
the charitable event of the season.
We are inviting over 500 Hark affiliates to join us for
a fun evening of cocktails, dancing and raffles, all to
benefit a worthy and relevant cause. With steady growth
and awareness built over the past year, we plan to make
2014’s event even bigger and better than the last.
All event proceeds will help
build our mentor program and proprietary grant program – The
Passion Project – providing
our mentees with scholarships to pursue their passions. In
just a year, we’ve supported 40 mentees and most
recently awarded nine grants to participate in the
afterschool/ development program of their choosing.
We hope that with the money raised at
Emerald-Tie
this year, we will be able to double the number of
scholarships allocated in 2014 to our new class of
mentees.
Founded in February 2013, Hark
Society (Helping Afterschool Programs Reach Kids) is a
non-profit organization comprised of young professionals
committed to enhancing education and cultivating passion
in the lives of underserved children in New York City.
By volunteering, fundraising and hosting events, we are
able to give these children access to quality
afterschool programs and extra-classroom activities in
hopes of providing the support and opportunity they need
for success. For more information, go to
