In 2014, NEW YORK CITY’S PREMIERE HOLIDAY SHOPPING DAY
WILL BENEFIT THE SOCIETY OF MEMORIAL SLOAN KETTERING CANCER CENTER
|

Miracle on Madison Avenue, one of New York City’s most
beloved philanthropic holiday shopping traditions for 28
years, will be held on Saturday, December 6. This year, over
85 of the world’s most prestigious brands and retailers will
welcome shoppers who want to join them in giving back. |
Participating retailers and businesses on Madison Avenue
between 57th and 86th Streets will donate 20% of the
sales that day between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to The Society
of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (with a
maximum contribution of $15,000 per retailer). This will
be the third year that Miracle on Madison Avenue has
raised funds targeted to the pediatric initiatives of
The Society of MSKCC, a volunteer organization that
works to ensure the well being of patients; raise funds
for cancer research and treatment; and provide public
education on the prevention, early detection, and
treatment of cancer. Last year, over $225,000 was raised
to benefit MSKCC.

On
the Miracle on Madison Avenue shopping day, the MSKCC
Miracle Host Committee members Courtney Arnot, Muffie Potter
Aston, Nina Carbone, Robyn Joseph, Martha O’Brien Lamphere,
Amanda Meigher, Sarah Powers, Annie Taube, MSKCC President
Martha Glass, and Eleanor Ylvisaker, Chairman, MSKCC
Associates Committee will join Town & Country magazine
editors, to greet shoppers in participating boutiques. Up
and down the Avenue, holiday choirs will be singing the
holiday favorites, tempting refreshments will be served and
the warm glow of goodwill will be shared by all. |

Miracle on Madison Avenue is organized
by the Madison Avenue BID. Town & Country is the media
