Lisa Lemole Oz, writer, producer,
entrepreneur and host of
“The Lisa Oz Show” on Veria Living TV will be the guest of
honor at the 2014 National Organization of Italian
American Women (NOIAW) Gala, Monday evening May 12
being held at The St. Regis, Two East 55th Street at
Fifth Avenue,
New York.
In addition to authoring the New York Times
bestseller US: Transforming Ourselves and the
Relationships that Matter Most, Lisa co-authored
five of the New York Times best-selling series,
YOU: The Owner’s Manual. She is
Editor at Large of Dr. Oz, The Good Life, Hearst
magazine’s new lifestyle publication, and appears regularly
on the Dr. Oz Show. |
With her husband, Dr. Mehmet Oz, she co-founded HealthCorps,
a peer-mentoring, non-profit which delivers a progressive
curriculum in nutrition, fitness and mental resilience,
impacting over 230,000 teens in at-risk communities across
the country.
Proceeds from the NOIAW Gala will help support the
development and implementation of NOIAW programs which
include: Scholarship Programs, providing financial
assistance to deserving young Italian American women
pursuing their education; Cultural Exchange Programs,
providing a culturally enriching and educational experience
for Italian and Italian-American college students, and
monthly member programs, offering cultural, social,
educational and networking opportunities and events.

last year’s honoree, Donatella Arpaia, will introduce
Lisa Oz to the audience. Ms. Arpaia is a contemporary woman
leader of influence in the world of food, business and
entertainment. Mistress of Ceremonies will be Ornella
Fado, creator, author and television hostess of
Brindiamo!, broadcast on NYC LIFE, channel 25.
In addition, the 2014 Friend of NOIAW Award
will be presented to The City University of New York
(CUNY), the leading public urban university system in
the nation, for its steadfast commitment to the Italian
American community and its positive support and relationship
with The National Organization of Italian American Women.
Accepting this award on behalf of CUNY will be
Senior Vice Chancellor, Jay Hershenson.
