The Evening: Bonne
Santι was launched in the summer of 2010 by the National
Kidney Foundation Serving Texas and acclaimed Chefs Scott
Gottlich of The Second Floor, and William Koval of Lakewood
Country Club. Each
year this event has continued to grow with the support of
our chefs and the community.
Both Scott and William are all too familiar
with kidney disease. Chef
Gottlichs sister, Stephanie, underwent a kidney transplant
in 2009. Following
her successful procedure, Scott and Stephanie had a vested
interest in supporting the National Kidney Foundation, so
that others who are not as fortunate can have the same
thoughtful care, support and encouragement as they were
given.
Chef Koval leaned on the National Kidney
Foundation during a trying time when his son was born with
only one kidney. Today,
with his healthy son, Nathan, by his side in the kitchen,
Chef Koval is an avid support of the National Kidney
Foundation. We
are proud to be associated with both Chef Gottlich and Chef
Koval in launching Bonne Sante and thank them both for
their untiring efforts in making it a reality.
