Debbie's Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer (DDF)
is hosting its 4th Annual Stomach Cancer
Capitol Hill Advocacy Day in Washington D.C. on
February 10 – 11, 2016. While in D.C., advocates
from all over the country will meet with members of
the Senate and House of Representatives to express
concerns over the lack of federal funding being
directed toward stomach cancer research. Advocates
will present the latest statistics and facts and
also relay their own journey and experience.DDF
is looking for advocates from all over the United
States to attend, raise their voice, and support
stomach cancer research. Every voice matters in this
fight, including those of survivors, patients,
caregivers, family members, supporters, healthcare
professionals, and researchers. Previous DDF
advocate efforts have led to stomach cancer being
included among those cancers eligible for funding
under the Department of Defense's Peer Reviewed
Cancer Research Program (PRCRP). DDF is working
hard to keep stomach cancer on the list of cancers
eligible for research funding under the PRCRP and
that more resources are allocated toward studying
this underfunded cancer through the National Cancer
Institute. To join DDF on Capitol Hill, please

About Debbie's Dream Foundation: Curing
Stomach Cancer
DDF was founded in 2009 by Debbie Zelman
after she was diagnosed with stage IV incurable
stomach cancer in 2008 and given only weeks to live.
Zelman immediately began to educate herself about
this disease and to seek the best available care.
When she responded favorably to her treatment,
Debbie founded DDF which now has chapters throughout
the United States, Canada, and Germany and a Medical
Advisory Board of renowned doctors from across the
country and internationally. Now, almost eight years
later, Debbie is still receiving chemotherapy and is
thrilled to be able to watch her three children grow
up.
Debbie's Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach
Cancer (DDF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
dedicated to internationally raising awareness about
stomach cancer, advancing funding for research, and
providing education and support to patients,
families, and caregivers. Debbie's Dream Foundation
seeks as its ultimate goal to make the cure for
stomach cancer a reality.
