Miami Bridge Launches into the Future with its
Galactic Nights Gala
The annual gala will raise funds to
provide emergency housing
to at-risk youth in crisis
The Miami Bridge Youth & Family
Services Inc. is hosting its annual fundraiser on
April 23rd from
7:30 pm to
11:30 pm with Galactic Nights ... Launching Into The
Future, a gala to celebrate the organization’s
bright future. The event will take place at Lou La
Vie Gallery at 246 NE 15 St., Miami, Fl 33132
(downtown Miami.)
For nearly 30 years, Miami Bridge
Youth & Family Services has been Miami-Dade County’s
only 24-hour emergency shelter for abused, neglected
and abandoned youths, offering youngsters escaping
crime, abuse, violence and drug addiction a safe
place where they are stabilized and taught coping
skills. Annually, the organization shelters more
than 500 children and teens and provides counseling
to more than 550 families.
This year’s gala will focus on the
organization expanding its services and raising
funds to help kids in distress who don’t have a
place to call home.
The Galactic Nights gala offers
individual tickets at $175 and numerous levels of
sponsorship opportunities ranging from $1,000 to
$20,000 dollars, with all of the proceeds going to
Miami Bridge. The gala will have music, dancing and
entertainment and will provide a great networking
opportunity.
Miami Bridge’s mission began in
1975, when Catholic Charities opened a small shelter
aimed at helping abused and homeless kids. When the
Catholic Charities program ended in 1985, a group of
civic leaders established a voluntary Board of
Directors and incorporated a new not-for-profit
organization, giving rise to Miami Bridge. In 1985,
Miami Bridge moved into its current residence in the
heart of Miami and eventually opened a second
location in Homestead.
