WHAT
The
annual Summer Solstice Celebration at Storm
King Art Center is the Hudson Valley’s
premier summertime event, featuring a
cocktail reception and a gourmet
farm-to-table dinner in a picturesque
landscape. The festive affair treats guests
to private tours of the grounds and annual
exhibitions, Dennis
Oppenheim: Terrestrial Studio and Outlooks:
Josephine Halvorson.
The evening ends with dessert, dancing and a
live musical performance.
EVENING ITINERARY
5:00–7:00 pm: Reception including Cocktails,
Hors d'Oeuvres & Exhibition Viewings
7:30 pm: Dinner in the Fields
9:00 pm: Dessert, Music & Dancing
FOOD
The gourmet, regionally sourced menu will be
designed by chef Amanda Freitag,
co-star of Food Network’s
hit series, Chopped, and
the co-host of Food Network’s American
Diner Revival.
Freitag willbe collaborating
with chef Shelley
Boris, of Fresh Company in Garrison, New
York. Served family-style under the stars
amid monumental sculpture, the dinner menu
will be inspired by the annual exhibitions
and will be followed by dessert and dancing.

For the
2016 season, Storm King Art Center presents Dennis
Oppenheim: Terrestrial Studio, which
traces the artist’s lifelong engagement with
outdoor space with major installations, some
created by Oppenheim but never fully
realized in his lifetime. Also on view
during the 2016 season will be
site-specific work, Measures,
by artist Josephine Halvorson. Measures combines
painting and sculpture in the artist’s
first-ever outdoor project, as part of Storm
King’s annual Outlooks series. Dennis
Oppenheim: Terrestrial Studio will
be on view May 14 – November 13, 2016. Outlooks:
Josephine Halvorson will
be on view May 14 – November 27, 2016.
