Bailey House presents its 29th annual Gala & Auction,
one of the hottest parties of Spring 2017, on Thursday,
March 9, 2017. The Gala honors the heroic dedication of
the individuals and allies who help further the Bailey
House mission to transform the
lives of people with or at risk of HIV/AIDS and other
chronic illnesses through housing, health services and
community.
The 2017 event is
particularly meaningful, as it will be dedicated to the
extraordinary legacy of Gina Quattrochi, the late CEO of
Bailey House who passed away in December 2016, after 25
years of steadfast leadership.
The 2017 Honorees include: David
France & Jonathan Starch for
their long-time support of Bailey House and their work
to amplify LGBT equality efforts and help those affected
by HIV/AIDS; David is the Oscar-nominated filmmaker and New
York Times best-selling
author of How
to Survive a Plague, as
well as an award-winning investigative journalist, and
Jonathan is the longtime Executive Producer of “Law &
Order: Special Victims Unit”; Patricia
M. Evert, committed fundraiser and philanthropic
advisor who has been responsible for raising more than
$250 million for LGBT, HIV/AIDS, political and social
rights movements; and LaQwanna
Finkley, a junior at Lehman College, for
her work to engage and empower disadvantaged youth,
particularly women of color, by leading health education
and job readiness programs. Award presenters include Raúl
Esparza, Tony Award-nominated stage and television
actor, singer and voice artist, and Tom
Viola, Executive Director of Broadway Cares/Equity
Fights AIDS. The Gala will be hosted by Alan
Cumming, Tony Award-winning stage, television and
film actor and New
York Times best-selling
author.
The long-recognized Auction follows the Gala Dinner and
features four special home décor vignettes curated by ATG
Stores, the Home Furnishing Company; NYC&G
(New York Cottages & Gardens) with Baker
Furniture; the New York Chapter of IDS (Interior
Design Society); and the New York Metro Chapter of ASID (American
Society of Interior Designers). These vignettes will be
curated with an exceptional selection of fine furniture,
art and other luxury home design items.
Other featured Bailey House Auction items include two
tickets to the acclaimed Broadway production of Indecent;
two Air France Business Class tickets coupled with a
three night stay in Paris in a couture suite designed by
Maison Margiela at La Maison, Champs-Elysées; a hand
painted Maison Margiela black leather “Doctor Bag”
created by artist Scooter LaForge; a set visit for the
Emmy Award-winning television show “Law & Order: Special
Victims Unit”; two tickets to the Broadway revival of
Tennessee Williams’s The
Glass Menagerie, including
a backstage visit with cast members Sally Field and Joe
Montello; and a distinctive selection of furnishings and
home décor.

Bailey House was among the first to partner with the
design community to raise critically needed funds for
HIV/AIDS related service. Since the first Auction in
1988, the annual event has raised over $15 million. All
proceeds benefit Bailey House programs that help to
positively impact and transform the lives of low-income
New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic
illnesses.
