Grace Farms Foundation announces its second
anniversary celebration benefiting a
first-of-its-kind global campaign to help eradicate
modern day slavery. Entitled “Unchain”
and created in partnership with WPP agencies Geometry
Global, J.
Walter Thompson, as well as Shazam and Thomson
Reuters Foundation, the campaign is a
collaboration among public, private and individual
efforts to disrupt the many facets of modern day
slavery by generating unprecedented public awareness
and engagement activism. The event will be held on October
14, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Grace
Farms. Four-time Grammy award-winning
singer/songwriter and philanthropist India.Arie will
headline the event and guests will have the
opportunity to engage with Shazam
augmented reality experiences that shed light on
this crime.
The Unchain campaign, expected to launch in early
2019, is being developed as part of the
Foundation’s Justice
Initiative in partnership with other entities
vision to disrupt modern day slavery.
“As we celebrate our second anniversary this
October, we look far into the future to a world
where everyone is truly free and slavery is a thing
of the past,” said Sharon
Prince, President and Chair of Grace Farms
Foundation. “Together, with the help of
forward-thinking industry leaders such as WPP
agencies Geometry Global, J. Walter Thompson, as
well as Shazam, we will target all forms of modern
day slavery and build a platform that brings
communities together to advance good in the world.”

WHY:
|
Modern slavery is the greatest humanitarian issue of
our time, yet far too few people understand its
magnitude. More people are enslaved today than at
any time in history. Over 40 million people are
trapped in a world of forced labor, sex trafficking,
child marriage or debt bondage that crosses
international borders, cultures and industries. This
crisis is underpinned by a massive $150 billion
dollar criminal enterprise, at times unwittingly
fueled by our own consumption and shopping habits.
