Benefit Gala on November 6
Gala Celebrates Amazing Leaders for Their
Outstanding Contributions to Cardiac Care
New York (October 30, 2017) - Harboring
Hearts will hold its 6th Annual
Benefit Gala on November 6 honoring
outstanding individuals for their contributions in
cardiac care. The gala will feature performances by
actor/singer
Anthony Rapp with two-time heart transplant
survivor and New York Times Bestselling
Author Amy
Silverstein as master of ceremony. The annual
benefit will be held at the Samuel B. & David Rose
Building at Lincoln Center. All proceeds benefit the
vital programming provided by the organization.
"Harboring Hearts has steadily grown since our
inception in 2009. This year, we are thrilled to
launch our Heart Food program with Hu Kitchen, to
partner with LiveOnNY around organ donor awareness
and to work closely with our partner hospitals to
take Harboring Hearts to the next level of growth -
To provide support to every heart surgery family in
New York City and beyond," said Michelle Javian,
Founder of Harboring Hearts.
This year’s gala will honor Dr.
Erica C. Jones, Director, HeartHealth Program
Dalio Institute of Cardiovascular Imaging at NYP/
Weill Cornell Medicine, Dr.
Paolo C. Colombo, Sudhir Choudhrie Associate
Professor of Cardiology Medical Director, Center for
Advanced Cardiac Care at NYP/Columbia University
Medical Center,
Jessica Karp & Jordan Brown, Co-founders Hu
Kitchen & Hu Chocolate, and Helen
Irving, President & CEO, LiveOnNY.
The 6th Annual Benefit Gala will treat
guests to a cocktail reception filled with live
music, food and cocktails. Hästens is standing in
sponsorship support of Harboring Hearts and bringing
the message of health and wellness into the
conversation by offering a Model 2000T that will be
the highlighted item for the Benefit Live Auction.
The event is being presented with the support of
sponsors such as Canyon Ranch, The Omega Institute,
Ray Ban, The Whitney, Dance With Me USA and
Equinox.
Since its founding in 2009, Harboring Hearts has
provided funding, affordable housing and community
programs to patients and families directly impacted
by heart surgery. Serving as an extension of the
healthcare continuum, Harboring Hearts is a major
resource to family (caregivers) traveling to NYC
area to attend to the needs associated with major
cardiac care. To date, the organization has helped
cover more than $700,000 in services and provided
programming for more than 4000 patients and
caregivers.
